I have to admit, the cat is my favorite because he reminds me of Big Sister…who sometimes has a problem sharing. I love the message of friendship and teamwork that dominates this movie. The musical score in this DVD is wonderful. Little Sister just snuggled up next to me and absorbed everything. While watching Room on the Broom, Big Sister remembered much of the book from weeks before (more than I did!) and tried to remember what was coming next. It was several weeks until we were able to watch the DVD and we were so happy with it. The rhyming was very catchy and we actually read it two times in a row. We examined the end pages over and over again…finding small details within the pictures upon each closer look. My girls and I immediately read the book when it came in the mail. For the rest of the story….you will either need to get the book or watch the DVD. Will there be enough room for all these friends? The kind witch believes there is….much to the dismay of the cat! Terror strikes when a fearsome dragon is about to eat the friendly witch. Luckily three helpful animals – a dog, a parrot, and a frog – find the missing items and all they want in return is a ride on the broomstick. In this tale you join a friendly witch and her cat as they fly happily through the sky on their broomstick – until the witch drops her had, then her bow, then her wand. Room on the Broom is a new DVD based on the #1 best selling children’s picture book that depicts friendship and adventure. Opinions and experiences shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them. This post on Room on the Broom is brought to you by NCircle Entertainment, who provided me a book and DVD for my time. Could they teamed up together to make another excellent product? Yes….yes they did! When I heard there was a new Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler combination, Room on the Broom, I was instantly intrigued. Room On The Broom is touring the U.K.We have been long time fans of The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child (in both book and DVD forms). We even got to meet the cast at the every end which was a lovely way to end our morning! The puppets were fabulous and were brought to life so well! I must say the dog was very realistic and very funny too! If you’re a fan of the book then you’ll definitely love this show! Myself and my daughter really loved the frog and dog! There was never a dull moment! The songs were exciting, there was plenty of audience participation and hilarious characters. Now I thought the performance was wonderfully adapted for the stage and it was amazing to see our favourite characters brought to life! I always find it so fascinating how a book (that probably takes no more than 5 minutes to read) can be turned into a full stage play but it was successfully done yet again! We’ve got the audiobook collection and now the amazing soundtrack from the show! Now we are BIG Julia Donaldson fans so we had to come and watch this show! So far this year we’ve seen The tiger who came to tea, We’re going on a bear hunt and many more! So we were invited to watch Room On The Broom Live! We LOVE when one of our favourite books is turned into a live performance. I remember when I first started this blog, I would complain that there wasn’t much on at the theatre for under 5s and well I can’t say that anymore! I feel like we’re at theatre more than we’re at home haha!
